If elections took place in Israel, Republican nominee Donald Trump would win the election, according to the results of an exit poll taken among absentee voters in Israel obtained exclusively by The Jerusalem Post.
According to the report:
Trump received 49% of the Israeli-American vote, while Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton got 44%, according to the poll conducted by get-out-the-vote organization iVoteIsrael and KEEVOON Global Research.
Another 2% voted for Libertarian Gary Johnson, and the rest chose “other” or said they voted for Congress and not a presidential candidate.
Eitan Charnoff, iVoteIsrael executive director, said the low turnout, despite the organization holding dozens of events and the major parties’ Israeli representatives being active as well, is due to this year’s candidates.
“I think that a lot of people expressed a lack of enthusiasm about either candidate,” he stated. “It will be interesting to see if that is reflected in the voting in the US next week as well.”
The results also greatly differed. In 2012, iVoteIsrael’s exit poll found that 84% of Americans in Israel voted for Republican Mitt Romney and 14% voted to reelect US President Barack Obama.
According to Charnoff, The shift in voting patterns shows “the dynamic nature of politics and how people choose to vote for the US president in Israel,”.
I have a lot of things to say about polls in general, but when it comes to Israelis, forget about it.
In any event, while I agree with Charnoff that his results show "the dynamic nature of politics", it does not show an once of truth to "how people choose to vote for the US president in Israel".
Lets put it this way, Any such assumption is a total load of baloney, as voters rarely make any decisions for themselves, let alone Israeli voters who are not living in the United States, having very little to do with the needs of the people.

This is in addition to how I already feel on the subject - which much aligned with Joe Mcginniss’ Selling of the President, - that voters are easily manipulated or fooled because they don't know all that much, rarely get educated on the issues, and rather choose to vote on the basis of a candidate's looks, or public image or themes without giving much thought to how he or she might actually perform as president - I.E. his policies.
As such, naturally, one of the main formats with which voters establish their opinion is the media. that is basing the electoral choice based on the information which they receive from their favorite news outlets.
Lets face it, it is not for nothing that the media bragged that they elected Obama - and make no mistake, they will do the same if Hillary is elected - the bottom line is, the media are the ones who push the narrative.
So in this election cycle, when it comes to negative press, Trump received - as spelled out in a media research study - 93% negative press, and as much as it saddens me to say this, he did not fare that better in Israel.
The press, as was the case in the US, was biased against Trump almost exclusively from the get go on all mediums - and rarely if ever gave him a fair shake.

Surprisingly, this was even the case with the famed, right-leaning Arutz Sheva which (clearly supporting Ted Cruze during the primaries) ran hit pieces on Trump during the primary season, and continued to do so on a daily basis throughout this election cycle - It should be noted that this was not the case during the Romney campaign...
But what truly makes no sense is where Trump stands on the issues when it comes to Israel... One just needs to see the recently released Joint Statement from Jason Dov Greenblatt and David Friedman, Co-Chairmen of the Israel Advisory Committee to Donald J. Trump to see where Trump truly stands.

To get an idea where Trump truly stands all one needs to do is apperently ask J-Street"
(The political home for pro-"two state solution" peace Jewish Americans, who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the Jewish people - with living rights for all its citizens. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, while allowing US officials to put tremendous pressure on the Israeli government, we advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests, as well as Jewish and democratic values, including the degeneration of religious and ethical norms leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - including the support of the Iran deal.)
Looks pretty good to me...
So why did so many American Israeli voters vote for Hillary, surely they dont think Hillary will be good for Israel...
One can not help but wonder what the motivation behind such behavior is and was, and what the long term consequences of such actions could be. Lets face it, the Israeli right wing media outlets failed to support a true friend of our people and our country.
Thankfully Trump is a true friend of Israel, not some phony politician. So hopefully, the foolish actions of our rigth wing media will go unnoticed.
Nevertheless, nothing good can come from us compromising our values, for ulterior motives, and win or no win, we should think twice about where our allegiances truly lie...
