DeVos’ critics, however, point to her lack of experience in public education as a potential downfall.
During Tuesday night’s hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Sanders highlighted another area that he and other DeVos critics have made a top political issue in recent years: “free” college tuition. Asked if she would be willing to work with Sanders to help make “free” tuition possible, DeVos made it very clear to Sanders, that such talk is just fantasy.
“Senator, I think that’s a really interesting idea and it’s really great to consider and think about, but I think we also have to consider the fact that there’s nothing in life that’s truly free,” DeVos said. “Somebody’s going to pay for it.”
Throughout the Democratic presidential primary, Sanders vowed to make college “tuition-free” so that every family in American can afford higher education. Further, he promised to make the wealthiest Americans foot the bill through substantially higher taxes - classic Liberal logic...
DeVos also surprised all those attending the hearings when she expressed on Guns at schools.
