Trump Nominates David Friedman As U.S. Ambassador to Israel

President-elect Donald Trump has just announced, in a statement released by the transition team, that he will be nominating attorney and personal adviser David Friedman, as the U.S. ambassador to Israel.

David M. Friedman

Friedman responded by making clear he supports moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“The bond between Israel and the United States runs deep, and I will ensure there is no daylight between us when I’m President,” Trump said in the statement. “As the United States’ Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman will maintain the special relationship between our two countries. He has been a long-time friend and trusted advisor to me. His strong relationships in Israel will form the foundation of his diplomatic mission and be a tremendous asset to our country as we strengthen the ties with our allies and strive for peace in the Middle East. Nothing is more critical than protecting the security of our citizens at home and abroad.”“I am deeply honored and humbled by the confidence placed in me by President-elect Trump to represent the United States as its Ambassador to Israel,” Friedman said in response to the announcement. “I intend to work tirelessly to strengthen the unbreakable bond between our two countries and advance the cause of peace within the region, and look forward to doing this from the U.S. embassy in Israel’s eternal capital, Jerusalem.”

As mentioned, Friedman served as Trump’s main advisor on issues related to Israel during the 2016 presidential campaign.

But as reported by many newsletters across the nation Friedman has been a freind of Israel for decades...
In a meeting with Orthodox Jews In April, as reported then by Arutz Sheva, Donald Trump seized the oppertunity to name his two advisors on Israel - which as mentioned in the article, were names that made many in the room jump for joy!

The two were Trump's chief lawyer, Jason D. Greenblatt, a real estate attorney from Teaneck, New Jersey, and the other, the real estate lawyer, and bankruptcy expert David M. Friedman of the Kasowitz law firm - Now the nominated Ambassador. The nominations were good news for nationalists, as they find themsleves aligned with the appointees, who believe explicitly in Israel's right to the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria.

Obviously, due to the Religious Zionist background of these two fellows, it not hard to see why. Greenblatt for example, has been known to be very supportive of the Judea and Samaria settlement enterprise, and has had a hand in Trump involvement in several settlement projects in the past.

Friedman is also known as a staunch supporter of the settlement and annexation of Judea and Sammeria. Furthermore, Friedman is interestingly a leading commentator on Arutz Sheva and serves as the President of American Friends of Bet El Institutions.

In April, Friedman told Arutz Sheva's Baruch Gordon that "Mr. Trump's confidence is very flattering. My views on Israel are well known, and I would advise him in a matter consistent with those views. America's geo-political interests are best served by a strong and secure Israel with Jerusalem as its undivided capital."
With all the public talk from the Transition team, it would seem that Freidman (And Greenblatt for that matter) did so, and did so very well...

In the following photo, David and Tammy Friedman are seen at a playground which they dedicated in Bet El, with Former MK and Bet El Founder Yaakov "Ketzaleh" Katz.

And here is a faculty house dedicated by Friedman in Bet El's Ra'aya Girls High School. Photos by Baruch Gordon

These are such exciting times indeed...
