Q: Do liberals really believe that Clinton did nothing wrong, or do they just not care?
A: To be blunt, the Republican Party has been crying wolf about The Clintons’ supposed misdeeds for the past 25 years. They’ve wasted over a hundred million dollars in investigations and trying to turn everything from the White House Christmas Card list to Bill Clinton’s haircut into a scandal. They went all out after Bill Clinton by giving Kenneth Starr an almost unlimited budget and on their best day they came up with dick (and a blue dress). They went in guns blazing on Benghazi - and after a ridiculously expensive investigation the best they could come up with was Clinton kept her emails on a private server, as was SOP for the administration before the one she was Secretary of State in. And that the republican head of the FBI despite his best efforts to declare things classified and throw everything she’d done into the worst possible light couldn’t actually make a case.
I believe that no one on the planet has been investigated more and more publicly than the Clintons (I just don’t know which of the two has been more thoroughly investigated). If she is guilty then (a) she is an amazing criminal mastermind and (b) the constant crying wolf by having her investigated for non-scandals and non-stories means that just about any real scandal is going to look as ridiculous as the (eighth) Benghazi Investigation.
If over $100,000,000 wasted in investigations and witch hunts while coming up empty handed isn’t enough to clear someone from a smear campaign then what is?
I also believe that the Clinton Cash documentary is a steaming pile - and was quite literally funded by the person who is now in charge of the Trump election campaign. As for the links between Laureate University and the State Department, to quote Politifact “We ultimately found that there is zero evidence that Laureate received any money from the federal government while Clinton was at the State Department.” This is yet another case of the right wing crying wolf when the evidence does not support their claims about the Clintons. (So no, I don’t believe in that claim of pay-to-play either).
So there you have it - the view of a out to lunch liberal - good grief.
